NO Karaoke Music! / NO Canned Music! : This includes: NO pre-recorded background tracks, pre-recorded layers and effects layering, including drum machines and beat boxes.

This is NOT a dance competition.
Contestants must reside in the Province of Ontario.
Artist must be unsigned (no contractual performance obligations)
Ten (10) yrs or older or accepted on merit.
Entrants must submit a Compact Disc (C.D.) only. This will consist of a 3 song demo* (* demo MUST be somewhat consistent with your performance) though you may perform other (country genre) song compositions on the day of the show.
NO DVD's or Audio Cassette Tapes will be accepted!

The "Committee Judging Panel" will select 21 qualifying contestants to compete at the Showdown.
Each of the twenty (21) contestants must perform two (2) selections in the preliminary round of the show.
The top (6) six finalists will return to the stage and perform three (3) more song selections. Judging follows immediately, to declare the final three (3) winners.
A complete sound system, including drum kit will be available. Staging co-ordinators will assist all acts in preparation for their performances.
Judging:
Your performance and presentation will be earnestly evaluated by industry professionals, in a positive and professional atmosphere.
The judging panel will consist of a minimum three qualified professionals (from within the music industry) The audience vote to select the winner of “The Fan's Choice Award” (prize/s to be announced) ** (audience members with a paid entry ticket ONLY will be eligible to vote)
A Few Judging Criteria Guidelines Are: Visual presentation - Stage presence, appearance, attire. Vocal Quality - Pitch, timbre, range control, pronunciation, enunciation. Preparation - Tuned, rehearsed, readiness to perform, competence. Audience response, verbal interaction. Professionalism, originality, marketable qualities, showmanship. The show begins at 11 a.m. (at the Havelock/Belmont/Methuen Community Centre) and will be divided into two halves.
First Half - consists of performances by all twenty-one entrants. Each contestant must perform two (2) selections (12 min. max) Judging will take place to declare six (6) finalists.
